Imagine you get a call on Saturday that a warehouse operation almost came to a stand-still. What do you do? When you arrive at the warehouse you will first need to retrieve information about the operations and listen to the customer. Then you determine what the plan forward is and discuss this with all stakeholders. Be clear, set achievable timelines and show that you working towards success. Most important is to regain the trust of your customer and show trend towards stabilizing the operations. Success factors for this project were create areas of responsibility for every operational manager and let them report on the status daily, have dedicated team work on inventory management and make the project a joint effort with your customer. In the end we made the customer more than happy (they are still there!) and created a best practice case for this company.
